Five Panthers take the top spots in conference track

Zsanett Kis led a group of five track athletes who earned first place finishes last weekend at the Big South Conference Championships at Radford. Kis took two titles at the event. She won the 3000-meter steeplechase, coming in at 10:56.41, which set a new track record.

Tar Heels, Chanticleers, Demon Deacons fall to HPU baseball team

High Point's baseball team is coming off of what could arguably be called the best week the team has ever had. During the eight-day stretch between April 14 and April 21, the team (17-19) went 2-1 against opponents from the Atlantic Coast Conference, and 3-1 against teams ranked in the USA Today/ESPN Top 25 poll.

Raising the Bar: High Point isn't that podunk school anymore

When the University of Virginia opened the $130 million plus basketball arena, the area newspaper ran a story about the many features. A line read to the effect, "A curtain can cover empty seats when UVa hosts smaller schools, like High Point." While that is paraphrased from memory, the phrase's meaning stuck with me.
